The Royal Society of Musicians of Great Britain

The Royal Society of Musicians is Britain's oldest music charity and its aims remain as relevant today as they were in the earliest years – to provide immediate financial assistance to musicians unable to work due to accident, illness or old age. Since 1738, the Society has been working continuously to support professional musicians in need and being a charity run by musicians for musicians, it is uniquely placed to fully understand the challenges faced within the profession.

All applications to the Society are considered in confidence. Help may be offered in many ways, whether it be living expenses, rehabilitation, counselling, referrals to specialised practitioners, or consultations with financial advisors. In some circumstances, ongoing long-term financial support is offered to retired or frail musicians, as well as those with debilitating illness. In a profession where public knowledge of illness or financial difficulty has a devastating impact on an individual's career, the Society ensures that every application for assistance is treated with the utmost discretion and sensitivity.
The Society relies upon its Members who are all professionally active in the world of music and therefore best placed to inform the Society of colleagues in distress. Some of the earliest Members include Thomas Arne, William Boyce, Edward Purcell and George Frederic Handel for whom the Society was a favourite charity. Today some of the greatest names in music appear among the membership. Many Members are actively involved with the Society: as Ambassadors, raising awareness of its work, advising of colleagues in need, recommending other musicians for membership and, sometimes raising funds to enable us to continue our vital work.

To find out more about the work of the Society or to make a donation, please contact the Society's Secretary Charlotte Penton-Smith.

Vaishaly's skincare philosophy has always been refreshingly simple: You don't need a lot of different products to achieve beautiful skin.

"I believe passionately in treating the skin as gently and naturally as possible, and the products in my skincare ritual which are the same as those which I use in my treatments reflect this philosophy. Certain ingredients have been avoided, in order to allow the skin to breathe and to reduce the risk of any irritation or reaction in more sensitive complexions."

Superfacialist Vaishaly has been an expert in her field for over 20 years and has carefully chosen just a handful of therapists to perform the Vaishaly Signature treatments. With over 10 years experience each, in world class luxury spas across the globe, their care and expertise are second to none. Vaishaly and her team work very closely and extensively together to ensure your Vaishaly experience is unique and perfectly devised to suit you.

Packages are available for all treatments. Buy 5 of the same treatment and get the 6th treatment free. Please call for details.
